Legend says that if you know how to build a truck, you can get all the parts required to build it in the shops on Siddiah road. Storytellers have said that even pieces from the World trade centre on the other side of our earth have made their way here. But when I walked down Siddiah road today, I saw a lot more than just spare parts for trucks. Come with me, while I show you some of the amazing things that I saw in this strange and beautiful wonderland –

Look at The Man with Red Eyes. He called me over and asked me to take his picture.

This is The Keeper of the Green Shop

He grows his special Metal Roses here

Look at those strange objects!
This is an enormous bone of a prehistoric animal

And that’s the web of the native Siddiarantula spider which weaves its web out of glass

And these are the coloured eggs of a very rare and secret species of bird for sale, the details of which i am bound by oath not to divulge here

Yes! This place is a gargantuan installation and all those who work here are very skilled and specialized artists.
Look at this brilliant work of art!

Say ‘Ah!’ to these fascinating textures

Here is a painting in rust

And an abstraction in blue

This is some pretty mind blowing sculpture

Oh yes, I know you want to look some more, so I'll tell you how you can go there.
If you click on this magic spot right here and say 'sa mo sa', it will transport you to wonderland where you can see lots and lots more astounding objects and people of great beauty.
I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Hi Priya, hope you don't mind total strangers dropping in here from out of the blue blogosphere. I saw your message over at Jill's place (who is very creative btw) and came to take a look... and what a look ! I can only add another voice to the chorus already mentioned above, with a hearty tenor hurrah, this post is great ! Better than great, it is sublime... With your spare parts menagerie you have hit a chord that sings beautiful music in my ears...
And if you are bound by secrecy to not reveal your sources concerning the provenance of the wild birds eggs, I could only guess that they must be from birds of paradise, and they don't want anyone to know where they came from, because if we could find their nests, we would probably also find the keys to paradise stashed away deep in the straw...
From start to finish, a pleasure...
I love the natural elements found in all of these industrial parts! So amazing! Thank you for sharing the photographs and taking us on a little tour of this magical place.
PS Priya, and it just came back to me, I think I saw the work of a distant cousin to the siddiarantula spider that you showed here, on a blog in Norway, it must be the fearsome wreckorantula omnivorus spider that did this... it is on :

And then go down to the post John did on 20 october... you'll understand when you get there !
:-D
Priya, first of all, i apologize my english... I am an italian man living in Catalonia, which is a part of Spain where people spoke its own language: then i had to learn spanish and catalan, and my english, now, is very poor. Then i would to thank you for your comment to my blog. It was surprising for me! Finally, i deeply enjoyed your fotos: i think we have some similar way to look at the beauty all around... Thank you very much for all, see you, stefano
ah yes Priya, Beauty is everywhere.. we just have to open our eyes!!!
Great post Priya - I especially like the 'painting in rust' and the pink 'mind blowing sculpture' at the end!
you keep me so engaged! :) thank you.
I like seeing the man with the "red eyes". In Chinese medicine they can read a face and tell what is medically and probably otherwise wrong with him. His face would be a classic study I think.
Very texturally exciting subjects.
I love u I love u I love u for clicking these & to see your picassa album was a double treat if this was not enough!!!! This brand of beauty is what makes my heart sing. I must be mad, but I love real rust and i feel it looks as good as if not better than a real rose. big fat hug for this!!!!
