Happy New Decade dear blog readers!
Here in this first post for the New Decade, is a rare and exclusive interview from the author of The Plum Tree about left, right, tanning and other important stuff…
Why do you have a picture of a tanned, gorgeous dude in this post?
Because he is tanned and gorgeous stupid!
Oh all right. But what relevance does his picture have to a New Year?
What relevance do any of my pictures have to anything at all? I just bung them in there to make my blog look pretty and make my site stats rise to exciting levels. If you’ve found relevance in my pictures so far, damn good for you! But I sure hope you didn’t expect me to put a picture of a flower or peaceful skies or a cup of tea or other such trite stuff like that for yet another New Year blog post (yaaaawn).
Okay, I have to admit I am totally floored by the picture above, you MUST tell me, who is he? Who is he?
Aaaah! You are a curious one aren't you!
Okay, he is the Prime Minister of Norway! Yes! Really! I can see the shock on your face, but I’m not kidding. If you don't believe me, you’ll have to click on an authority here>>>
I know you are surprised, considering the fact that you, like me always assumed that politicians usually look like this -

Wow! I am bowled over completely! I used to think Vikings wore those Asterisk helmets with horns coming out of them and all.
Yeah, so did I. One would think that the Prime Minister of Norway would've looked like this -

I know! Now suddenly I rrrreally gotta find out all about Norway, how to pronounce those o’s with slashes across them and stuff like that!
Totally understandable.
What else can you tell me about this Viking Prime Minister?
Well, apparently he leans to the ‘left’.
In case you don’t know what that means and you’ve acquired this sudden interest in (Norwegian) politics, let me explain Politics to you:
Politicians who lean towards the right, look like this-

Politicians who lean towards the left, look like this-

Therefore I remained dead centre until…until…until…I saw the picture here>>>
Now I tilt so precariously towards the left that I might topple into Norway any minute!
I wanna lean to the left WITH you!
Sure! Join the pardy!

Gosh! My site stats have sky rocketed!!!

Oh Priya, you're a riot!!:D
I am leaning left all the way to Norway! Happy New Year, Priya! :)
I'm laughing with you Jill :D
Way to go Aditi! ;D
Smiles, but of course those Norsk folk er hjempe sjekk! I lived for two years in Norway and still harbour a love of the place and maybe just maybe a person there. Shhhhh says the married tied down woman. Well spotted with this find - a fine example of the healthy tanned Norwegian man. Bit of a lefty myself.
holy crap, he IS HOT!!!
hahahahahaaa thanks for the laugh :)
Good one Priya. By the way, Wishing you a very happy & prosperous new year. May this year be an even more pictorially successful one :)
You are so fun. Did you know I come from Norwegian stock? (a long time ago, great, great grandparents came over to the US from Norway.) I didn't get any of the "good looking" genes, though. Happy New Year, Priya!
Oh my, this is so good. See, my stats have been slumping just a bit lately and I thought maybe it was the time of year--now I know, the problem is that instead of trying to simply explain the pros and cons of different ways to use regulated markets to drive a green economic transformation, I needed to be writing about hot politicians! And the self-interview: brilliant! I am humbled,
sincerely,
HB
ROFL ....Priya you have made my day ... night! I might just topple into Norway with you. Everything of the best for 2010!

Whoa! I've followed your blog for about a year - and suddenly I see my prime minister!? I'm norwegian and I have a deep, deep love for India, almost anything Indian and also your beautiful art, so this was a weird and funny coincidence :)
Happy new year to you Priya!
oh! He lives in my neighbourhood, too! ;)
Dear Gigi,
What a coincidence indeed. I now have a deep deep love for Norway after seeing your beautiful Prime Minister ;-D

He is so handsome.

Darling Renee, I can hear you laughing from half way around the earth here.

Wow! i almost want to become a citizen of Norway. I can point a casual finger at him when all the women here stare open-mouthed and say "yeah...that's how OUR man looks!"
Happy New Year!!
